Instead of eagerly anticipating a break from school, Josiane Kasongo Kyoni didn’t want to stop learning over the holidays.
“I didn’t like the anticipated Christmas leave!” she says, explaining that delayed starts because of the pandemic left her and her classmates eager to learn more and catch up. Now that she is on extended break due to lockdown, she says she helps her parents with housework.
“And sometimes I go with my mother to the fields. When I have free time, I read my English book called “A New Day.”
When school recommences, she says she’ll start activities as usual.
“I look forward to spending a lot of time with my friends and talking to them about how they spent their Christmas and New Year days.
